COTOCOCHA AMAZON LODGE

Cotococha Amazon Lodge offers 22 spacious bungalows, built according to traditional architecture in harmony with the surrounding rainforest. All bungalows are equipped with a private bathroom, a private veranda with reclining chairs or hammocks to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of Ecuador's Amazon. Social areas are carefully decorated and offer all comfort and coziness for a splendid stay in the Ecuadorian Amazon. To preserve the magic of the Amazon, we use oil lamps to illuminate the cabins. We do not have electricity in order to cause less impact to our surroundings. However, electric devices can be charged at the reception.

All of Cotococha´s bungalows are scattered on our 4 hectares of jungle environment, emphasizing quality and coziness for an unforgettable rainforest experience. Four cabins are situated along the rivershore offering some awesome views of the great Napo River.

Electricity is not provided at the bungalows, but Cotococha Amazon Lodge has oil lamps along the paths and at the bungalows, which illuminate the property creating a very romantic atmosphere.

Our unique Amazon lodge is located in the upper Amazon basin overlooking the majestic Napo River. Because the Napo River has a low water level, you can take a refreshing swim or simply relax on the small sandy beach. The shore is also used as a dock for Cotococha´s canoe, where several of Ecuador´s Amazon tours depart.

Cotococha Lodge has a cozy lounge with a fireplace which offers comfortable seats to read or share your Amazon tour experiences with other travelers. A recent addition to the social areas is a second floor reading area. In the evenings and mornings you can enjoy breathtaking views of sunsets and sunrises which color the skies, waters and the Amazon rainforest.

Every bungalow at Cotococha is equipped with a private bathroom with hot and cold-water shower, a private veranda with reclining chairs or hammocks to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Ecuador's Amazon.

COTOCOCHA LODGE BAR

Cotococha Amazon Lodge features an intimate bar, seating up to 65 guests. There is a large variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages on the menu, offering the known international spirits as well as some local cocktails, such as the "Guayusa." The fireplace lounge and restaurant offers bar service

LOCATION

Cotococha Amazon Lodge is located 200 km (125 miles) southeast of Quito, and can be reached in an amazing 5 hour drive from Ecuador's capital or a 4 hour drive from the town of Baños. The surrounding area forms part of the Upper Amazon Basin, known as one of the most biologically diverse regions in the world and characterized by small Quichua communities and abundant vegetation. The location is also very well suited to make the famous loop Quito - Cotococha Amazon Lodge - Baños (or reverse). A huge advantage for travellers who want to continue southwards through Ecuador as you will not have to return to Quito.
